After a wet and cold winter, Seattle spring is starting out warm as we head toward summer. We need to make sure we are taking the appropriate precautions for our furry family members.

Watch out for torrid concrete on their paws as well as bringing plenty of water with you. Water is key on any occasion out with your pup but especially when it is warm out and they are doing any strenuous activity.

This also applies to dogs being in the car on warm summer days, there has been much controversy over this issue and whether or not you can help a dog that is stuck in a car.  According to Washington State law, if you see a dog stuck in a car on a hot day, you can call animal control or any law enforcement officer and they will do what is necessary in order to keep the pet safe (even if that means breaking a window).

Thanks for reading and stay safe during those dog days of summer!
