Volunteer & Externship Programs
Jet City Animal Clinic works in conjunction with Yakima Valley Community College of Veterinary Technology and PIMA Medical Institute’s Veterinary Assistant and Technician programs, and invites externs from these programs to finish out their AAS degrees in Veterinary Technology to become LVTs. Additionally, we provide volunteer experience for high school and undergraduates looking to explore a career in veterinary medicine.
Green Veterinary Team
It’s easy to be green if you put a bit of thought into it – our team and medical family acknowledges we can play critical roles in preserving the health of our ecosystem from the energy, water and supplies we use, to the products we stock and recommendations we make:
- electronic medical records provide a nearly “paperless” operation
- log fire starters are created as holiday giveaways to our clients from shredded documents
- digital radiographs eliminate the use of the chemicals, silver, electricity and water used to develop traditional x-ray film (AND enhance the quality of our images)
- motion sensor lights in every part of the practice turn off when not in use
- recycling is our top priority
Community Outreach
Paying It Forward – Jet City Animal Clinic strives to give back through various outreach activities and playing an active role in community events. Giving back to our community is part of our mission and our responsibility. We stay active by joining industry partners and giving back through a multitude of outlets.

City Paws Pet Salon
City Paws Pet Salon was opened on March 3, 2008 by Margaret Anderson, who was inspired by her three shih-tzus, Pebbles, PJ, and Picabo, to leave the corporate world and pursue work she was passionate about. City Paws was owned and operated by Margaret alone for eight years, until Margaret hired on Alexis Vassilaros, a talented groomer with over 10 years experience. Together, the two of them work at City Paws to create a quick-turnaround, cage-free, low-stress grooming experience for your small and medium-sized dog breeds. If you are looking for a gentle dog grooming experience that will leave your pup feeling pampered and relaxed, City Paws is the place for you! Come visit us, conveniently located on Seattle’s Capitol Hill at 345 15th Ave E., to see for yourself.
